Bangalore: Silk Mark Organisation of India, Okalipuram, Bangalore is organizing the Silk Mark Expo 2019 for 6 days, a national level exhibition cum sale of Silk Mark labeled products from 23rd to 28th January, 2019 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Kumara Krupa Road, in the garden city of Bangalore. The expo has 30 stalls for Authorised Users from across the country representing 11 states and covering products from more than 15 silk weaving clusters. The stalls are allotted only to the manufacturers, weavers and retailers of pure silk products who have registered with SMOI.
The expo has a Silk Mark Theme Pavilion with Mulberry, Tassar, Eri and Muga Cocoons, Yarns and Fabrics of these silks.
The display also has the R&D products developed using Vanya Silk by Vanya Silk Marketing Promotion Cell (VSMPC) & Product Design, Development and Diversification (P3D) and the concepts are explained by the CSB Officials. The free testing counter helps the consumers to test the purity of the products they bought and also learn the silk purity testing method.
Today the Expo was inaugurated by Shri. Rajit Ranjan Okhandiar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board & Vice Chairman, SMOI, Bangalore in the presence of Dr. Narendar Rebelly, IRS, Director (Finance), Central Silk Board and Shri. K.S.Gopal, CEO, SMOI, Central Silk Board on 23rd January, 2019 at 2.30 pm
Silk lovers of the city can rejoice in the expo, as it has enough diversified silk products like Tassar Silk sarees with fancy designs having embroidery with contrast color, Kanta work,
Tassar shirts, jackets, Eri silk socks, Silk Bags, Shirts, dhotis, blouses and garments apart from the traditional Kancheepuram, Benarasi, Pochampalli, Murshidabad, Mysore silks etc. For the first time, the digital prints in silk sarees have been introduced for the fashion conscious youth.
