A procession highlighting the cultural heritage of coastal Karnataka was taken out after the inauguration
The 14 th edition of Alva’s Nudusiri, the Three -day literary-cultural extravaganza at Moodbidri, opened to a colourful start on Friday Morning with an attractive procession of different cultural troupes moving ahead of the dignitaries — Nudisiri Sarvadhyaksha and the inaugurator.
Troupes denoting the rich cultural heritage of coastal Karnataka and the rest of the State took the centrestage during the procession. There were Nandidhwaja, Tattiraya, Kombu, Chende, Aatikalanja, Yakshagana, Goravara Kunuta, Somana Kunita, Pooja Kunita, Khathakkali, and many more in the procession.

After the inaugural and presidential addresses, a host of cultural programmes were performed.
The organisers — Alva’s Education Foundation — have made arrangements not only for the smooth conduct of stage programmes, but also for comfortable stay of participants. Foundation Chairman M. Mohan Alva said a large number of people have come to Moodbidri from across the State.
While student delegates are entertained without any fee, other delegates have to pay Rs. 100. All the delegates are being provided with accommodation and food during the Nudisiri.
They would receive breakfast, lunch and dinner with separate menus for the remaining three days. Food for at least 15,000 people per session (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is being prepared.
