Moodabidre:The inauguration of the 2017 edition of Alva’s Virasat, a Three-days festival of music and dance,Programme was inaugurated in a grand way at Puthige Vivekananda Nagar Moodabidre on Friday, January 13,2017.
Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dr D Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the cultural extravaganza.
Addressing the huge gathering he stressed on the importance of equality in the society. Young hearts need to develop generosity tolerance towards other religions and castes. Art is the one way to develop discipline in our life, he said.
Well known Bharatanatya dancer Padmabhushan V P Dhananjayan was conferred Alvas Virasat 2017 award. Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala D. Veerendra Heggade presented him a shawl, honoring letter, memento along with Rs I Lakh cash.
MLA Abhayachandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Ganesh Karnik, Canara bank GM, SCDCC bank president Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, Tejaswi anantha Kumar, former minister Murugesh Nirani, K Amarnath Shetty, Jayashri Amarnath Shetty and many others were present.
Dr M Mohan Alva, president of Alvas education foundation welcomed. A grand colorful procession was taken prior to the stage program.
