Moodbidiri: Indian dancers enthralled the audience with performances staged on the third evening of the ongoing National cultural extravaganza in Moodbidiri near Mangaluru on Saturday, November 28, 2015.
Surya N. Rao and Prathama Prasad Rao from Bangaluru performed the kathak and kuchipudi jugalbandi. The jugalbandi sammilan refers to artistes of various genres coming together to dance.
This item explored the various shades of kuchipudi and kathak, recreating the same sequences, but with individual elements and techniques of the two classical dances. Both the artistes performed rhythm cycles typical to their classical dance form with subtle nuances of individual style. They also demonstrated common elements of both the dance forms.
