Mangaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the ‘Uthkrusta’ Sahakari Soudha, a five-storey building built at a 2,000 square feet site spending around Rs 28 crore on the occasion of centenary celebrations of the South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank Limited, at Kodialbail in Mangaluru on April 30 at 3 pm.
Briefing reporters, at SCDCC Bank central office here, on Monday, Chairman M N Rajendra Kumar said District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai will preside over the function Nabard Chairman Harshakumar Bhanwala will inaugurate the new central office which has been shifted to the new building. Minister for Cooperation H S Mahadeva Prasad will inaugurate the IT centre.
Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake will inaugurate the auditorium which is named after cooperative sector legend late Molahalli Shivarao. Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader inaugurates the hall of conference hall of administrative board. Youth Service, Sports and Fisheries Minister K Abhaychandra Jain will inaugurate the guest house.
Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the loan section, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will inaugurate Karnad Sadashiva Rao training centre and Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shibha Karandlaje will inaugurate the ATM and Nabard Karnataka regional office (Bengaluru) Chief General Manager M I Ganagi will release a book on the history of the bank.
4,000 farmers
Rajendra Kumar said for the ceremony, around 4,000 people from rural areas would participate in the programme. Alva’s Education Foundation students would stage cultural programme for one and half hour in the evening. Parking facility will be made at Canara High School grounds and food, juice and sweet boxes will be provided to all, he said.
Bank hailed
State Co-operation Department Secretary Mahendra Jain said that the achievement SCDCC Bank is model to the country. The government has distributed 9,300 crore loan to 21.43 lakh farmers in the state this year. The bank has implemented it very well.
